    Teak Decking

What is a good sq./ft. price for teak deck installation, Im considering having it done but the price seems high.

I know someone who is getting a 12 by 9.5 cockpit done in NJ and it is around 20 grand. The planks are 5.50 per liner ft for a 2 inch wide plank. You have to use epoxy and 10 gals. of it are over 1200. I priced it out to do my cockpit myself, it is 10 by 7 and it was at my cost with all materials and some tools, no labor, it was like 10 grand.

they are really not that hard to put down.

best way is with the epoxy just keep everything dry and go 4-6 boards a time working from the middle out. tape it all off and smudge in the teak decking compound and you will have a sharp looking deck without lots of waste or extra work.

    NOT TEAK TEAK?

Biebs you have my interest. I love the look of teak on a boat. Always in the past, I Installed new teak cockpits and covering boards and then wished I didnt when I did not keep up with maintenance? Its always my fault not the teaks. Have you seen this material on a boat in the weather and if so does it look good and does it hold up?What is the cost compared to teak?
