Here's a thread that talks about a lot of methods....
I use sudsy ammonia followed by teak brightener..... see the thread for all the details.....
I agree to the sudsy stuff. Just enough brushing to get the job done not to much. I prefer alitte green scratch pad with the handle.
I'm partial to Snappy Teak-Nu - It is a 2 part cleaner - apply the first bottle with at soft brush, then the second part - rinse
The stuff is great - It will remove baked/cracked teak oil
Or you can take a permanent approach - 2 - 3 coats of epoxy, sand smooth, a coat of awlgrip primer, then paint the things white
Just kidding - Nothing looks better than well maintained teak!
Tim, make sure you keep the water runnin and keep everything wet it will stain everything it touches if you don't rinse her good !! Pitch is right no brush, use a pad it won't open the grain as much !!
Mako shark.....(not hammerhead or lemon)...BLOOD when allowed to be sun-dried gives the teak a beautiful hue tint..![]()
...so much for fresh water washdown in the pit....

....as nice as teak is....Rybo,,Merritt,, newer sleds Glass and spray away....da blood....i dont see many go fast CC's (center consoles) with teak....yup..times a changin
.. wet down your wood - smush a bunch of tide powder all over the wood wet it out good smushing it around..and wait till it turns purple color .. lightly scrub it... rinse and let it dry. We have had teak all my life even though I am in the C.A.T. club- (captains against teak).... break out a bag of lay's potato chips on the fresh teak and it will drive ya to drinking!
snappy-teak is da shit. if the teak gets REALLY bad and dried out, i use 80 grit dry sandpaper, then down to 120 paper, followed by three coats of good teak oil. makes it look brand new
