Sunbird Hull

Any of ya'll familiar with a 24' foot Sunbird. Spotted a hull the other day and it is a 24' Sunbird. Think Wellcraft made it but not positive. I've searched and only had three boats that sort of matched. The hull lines were the same two were "sunbird" and the other was a wellcraft.

Anyone have knowledge of these?

Hi craig- you sure it wasnt a seabird hull??? they were the precursers to Phoenix and made a very nice bulletproof hull although they would be "getting along in age" now- i do know of some sunbirds but they were like little rec/fun boat things.craig

the only Sunbird hulls i am aware of were produced out of the plant near columbia,sc during the late 80's when i was living there.

I have a Sunbird by Neptune cc, but I am not sure you are referring to the same manufacturer. Sunbird boats were an OMC company and the built boats trough 99 (I believe) and then closed shot. From what I am aware, they only constructed boats from 17' - 23' (CC, WA, Etc.) Here is a pic of my Sunbird Neptune 201.

It is a sunbird hull. I have found out a little. The were built in columbia,SC OMC took them over. They closed in 98 and Hydrasports moved in. Here is a pic of the hull I'm looking at. It is 24' and comes with the trailer. It looks like a little elbow grease and bracket would be all she needs.

BYRD, YOU MEAN A LOT OF ELBOW GREASE. LINES DON'T LOOK BAD THOUGH. I WOULD LOVE TO SEE MY WIFE'S FACE IF I TOWED THAT BIG RED BEHEMOUTH INTO MY BACKYARD AND SAID LOOK AT MY NEW PROJECT HONEY. GOOD LUCK WITH IT.

I showed her the pics before I started to pursue it. She said go for it. I think she wants a bigger boat so that her and my two daughters will be more comfortable when they go with me. Hopefully it will work out.

Picture a center console with a full transom fish box, two live wells, and rod holder every 18 inches.

The lines definitely more like those of that Seabird, then any of the sunbird hulls pictured below. The HIN should tell ya for shore if its still there! Whatever it is it has some good looking lines and will look nice after a good amount of sweat equity!
