Suggestions for cabin interior wall covering

Hi, looking at re-finishing the interior of the cabin this winter. Currently there is some pretty nasty wallpaper. I want to remove this and replace..... what are practical DIY suggestions? Vinyl?

I refinished the interior of my 36 Jersey cape, the wallpaper was made of vinyl and ugly, I used an automotive interior paint for vinyl and other plastics, it is great stuff, it remains flexible and actually slightly melts into the vinyl becoming a permanent part of it. The stuff I used was made by SEM . Here are some photos, somethings wrong I cant get them to attach, anyway in my case it was easier to paint than cut and glue new wallpaper and is completely undetectable , if you got on my boat and looked at it you would think it's tan wallpaper, not painted over chrome and blue ugly wallpaper.

OTORO - A YACHT CLASS INTERIOR IS TEAK. DO IT IN TEAK. IF THAT 38' DAVIS IS YOURS USE TEAK. I HAVE 1/4 TEAK PLYWOOD FOR UNDER $100 BUCKS A SHEET BUT GETTING THEM TO BERMUDA IS A DIFFERENT STORY.

You may be able to use teak veneer if it isn't going to be structural.

Teak Veneer is available with a sticky back, so you wouldn't need visible fasteners.

You would need to varnish it though.

I think the teak veneer would look great.... lot of folks here use indoor/ outdoor carpet. Its cheap and easily replaceable. You could also use as like a chair rail, doing the bottom half with carpet and veneer on top.

Teak veneer can look ugly and great...all depends on the type you buy and the grain pattern. I've seen some that look fake and some that look 100% real. I'll get you info on a company to check out and look into. 3M makes a product that you just spray on both surfaces until tacky and then push togeather and then just iron the teak to get the two surfaces to adhear and get bubbles out. It is a fairly easy job, use a razor to fine tune the edges. They make teak tape also for cabinet or counter edges also. Also, if it gets ruined a few years down the road, use an iron, heat and peel off and redo it. Although the teak ply is tempting for that price mentioned above, depends how much you need and how much additional work it would require to use it.

    Interior Wall Covering

Awl-Craft or Awl-Grip, when the surface is clean and fair can make a surface look great. Plus the added benefit of easy cleaning and low maintenance.
