Beeswax, or ivory soap once you get it free. I once had an old canvas tent that the zipper would freeze up and I took an old cheap candle and rubbed it all over the zipper and never had another problem with it.

Thanks for all the advice. The zipper is still stuck. I have tried silicone spray, hammer tapping, and Coca Cola.
I will try vinegar and WD-40 today. All that other stuff....as good as it may be, just doesn't exist here. On the motor, I couldn't tell which polarity should be the right way. I didn't have a clue as to whether it mattered or not..but I did try the magnet in different positions to see if there was a difference. I couldnt see one. So I figgered I had a 50/50 chance of getting it right. The pump works.

The only way I've ever loosened and removed saltwater corrosion from parts stuck together is with HEAT! Now I'm not suggesting you use a torch on your zipper
but you might try immersing the corroded zipper in boiling water for several minutes...or an hour! On & Off works also, but will probably bleach out the color of the bag. |
