Ok, on Saturday, we put the flats boat in the water. The trim sounded weak and the motor would only click click click when the key was turned. Pulled the boat back out and cracked the hatch under the console. All wires are tight, and when the key is turned, motor fires off. Figured that the battery was low, so we put the boat in and let her run about an hour to recharge. She cranked back up, but the nav and anchor lights would not turn on (GPS, bilge and livewell would all run. GPS is tied into battery directly, lights and pumps go through switch panel). Yesterday get ready to take her out again and I check the motor at the house. Once again, click click click and the trim is weak. I crack the hatch and the battery is sweating on the sides. I hooked up the battery charger and the needle would jump from 1/2 charge to full charge and back. After about 5 minutes, the motor would fire (nav lights working now too). Unhooked it from the charger and let it sit overnight. This morning, click click click goes the motor. Trim strong, lights and GPS working. The lights and GPS were not connected and the bilge and livewell switches were turned off, so I don't think there is a power drain on the battery.Any ideas? Bad battery cell?
