    Sound Proofing Engine Rooms

What is the best product on the market to significantly reduce engine noise?

Although I have yet to start the engines in my boat, we used Sound Down materials throughout the engine room.

We installed the sound absorption material under the helm deck along with a perforated double skinned aluminum sheet that contains a polymer between the layers, as well as lining all of the walls with an aluminum sheet material that has a polymer between it. We have yet to install the sound absorbtion matt between the engine walk way, but the effect is weird.

When you're in the engine room the only way to hear anyone working anywhere on the boat is through the open hatch.

When you're in the engine room talking sound doesn't resonate at all.

    It just gets absorbed.

Now I just need to see how it performs with 4 turbo's whining.

+1 on Soundown. We used it on my dad's boat and it eliminated the piercing turbo shriek. It cut down the engine noise quite a bit too, which wasn't as apparent until you opened a hatch.
IE8 says this may be a phishing site....Well, DUH!!!!!!... Stupid jerks can't even spell fishing right.
