soda blasting and waxing question

I'm having the boat soda blasted this week , first time for me. I was wondering with people who have had this done , would I be foolish to start waxing before the blasting?

Probably..... if your soda blast guy is a good "professional", then he will seal the area around the water line on the hull....but you will still go some residue......
