The bridge has not changed. The salon and down below have been scewed up somewhat and need to be put back together. Somebody turned the starboard side daybed into a bench, removed one the port side dinetted benches, took out the starboard side refig, tookout the shower & head, and took out the upper bunk. Gettting the picture? Its a shame, but we are putting her back to the original layout.

Hey Fritz, did you check your PM on reguards about the items we talked about? Fritz when I bought the boat the salon was gutted no daybed or dinett. I built the starboard bench for seating and hinged it for engine access. I do have the original upper bunk if you need any measurments. its still in good shape if you want it. That was not attached when I bought the boat but keeped it. You said that the port side under the engine was hacked up. Could you tell way that was just curious? Geez 15 years, never had a problem with the port engine with all that rust it ran like a top unbelievable !!! The only thing I added to the bridge was the bright trim work on top of the seating , and the bright port and stb. side Electronic console. Added that because I did not have a elec. box on the half tower. I also have the original salon freezer door if you want it. What type of glass are they using on the the hull, and are they using epoxy? Don

Thumbs up Pure piece of Marine Art History

    Fritz,

I must say that boat is going to be beautiful, it looks good, and for the age that wood is in great shape. Winter seems to be the best time to put a project together. Unfortunatly the winter snow has been hindering our ability to complete our project! We still have to prep ours for paint. What color are you going with? Have you decided on motor package yet? Really looing forward to how she comes along!

In my book shes a fine example of Marine Art. She def. was ahead of her time

    The work continues.

Hey Bubbis, how do we get access to the port and starboard shaft tubes, mufflers, and exhaust pipes? Bubbie says, "I know. How about port and starboard in the deck fish boxes?"

What's one the best fuel tank materials besides fiberglass? How about Monel? We removed the belly tank as I wasn't trusting it after 45 years in service. It is unbelievably clean and free of corrosion. We are gong to replace it anyway, but its hard to believe its still serviceable after being in the bilge for all those years. A whole lot more to tell, but I am short of time.

I removed that aft cockpit tank in 1995. The preveious owner told me that it leaked. I took the tank out and had it preasure tested, and it had no leaks. So I cleaned it up and put it back. The aft cockpit tank is 100 gal. and the two tanks port and stb. are 150 gal. each. All three tanks are monel. Are you replacing all three tanks?

Yes, I am aware the tanks are monel. The port & starboard tanks are inside the salon and out of the weather and appeared to be in great shape. SInce we had the deck open we saw no reason not to replace the tank. Besides and in contradiction of what I posted above, a very close inspection by Bubby after I posted above revealed a soldered seam on the belly tank was a bit corroded.

    Decisions, decisions

We had to make a couple of decisions about how we were going to glass the hull. We think this is the best solution. I will let a couple of the experts on the site explain the photo and what we are doing if they would like.
