Vasoline, or chap stick, I keep a stick onboard and apply every once in a while.

I ordered some stuff out of tackle catalog. It came in a tube that looked like a chapstick container. I have no idea whats in it. Probably something like wd-40. Any way you just take off the top stick it over the snap and twist.

The product is called (snap stick). It looks like just like chapstick for all I know it may be chapstick.

just an update...

went down to the house tues to work on a screen porch. tried some chapstick (i always have some) worked instantly!
