She is 33 ft long and 10'6" wide. 480 Cummins 5.9. Like everything in life, It has taken me much longer to build than I thought. I really want to build a 41-45 convertable when she is finished.
Looking real nice there Shay. Next time you're out and about on the skiff, come on in the creek.
Sanding on a hatch gutters... The back side that you will never even see.........
hi Shay I am working on a cnc cut mold that will make four corners at a time, That way I can sell the straight runs a a set of four corners and the installer will not have to monkey with mitred corners and the hateful fairing of same!
stand bye!
i
Engine hatch and day hatch. 1" 14 lb foam with one layer of 1708 on both sides.... Probably going to need a few stiffeners on the backside though.
Smaller hatch gutter will go in tomorrow.......
Hey Shay, how wide are those hatches? They look about 36" from the pics. One layer of 1708 on that foam is definitely not enough but you might try adding a second then waiting two or three days for it to cure out hard. It might suprise you! A third layer on the bottom goes against the balanced laminates rule of thumb but it shouldn't potato chip too bad and it is "just" a hatch.
Do you have any 1800 or 1808 laying around? The 0/90 degree weave will be stronger than the =/- 45 since the fiber length is shorter going straight across the panel. I may have some lying around here somewhere if you don't.
Bill.
Bill, I will be at Leonards tomorrow(Thursday). I will stop in to see you.
