Small Boat Tower

Guys, I am thinking of putting a folding tower on my World Cat. Has anyone had one on their boat?? pref. a boat in the 26-28' range. I am talking to the people at world cat about how the boat will handle when running the boat from the tower. just tryin to get some more feedback from the board.

Will increase roll... But I love having mine. Gives me a place just to get away some days. A place to actually find fish others. Running from up there on glass days is nice but can get a bit squirrelly at speed. In the trough they can tenderize you pretty good but you get used to it...
You might want to try to find one from down here. I saw thousands salvaged from boats wrecked in last years storms. The bad ones I'm sure were cut up as aluminum scrap but quite a few remained intact. Before buying my boat I looked at a boat without a tower so I did a quick "shop". I found all kinds of stuff and pretty cheap too.

Had a friend with one on a 25 grady, he loved to drive from up on top. I don't think he even used the lower station after the tower was installed.

Good Luck

I had a crows nest without controls on a 28 Hydra-Sports. I loved it. I had plenty of people ride in the tower while cruising around and they never complained. When it was rough I left it at home. I caught a bunch of cobia sight casting out of OI and it made offshore much easier. I was able to spot grass, rips, color changes, and pilot whale from much farther away then when I was on the deck. The crows nest was cheap and removable. I now have a boat with a full tower and will never own another boat without it. If you are trying to do it on a budget a crows nest is the way to go.

I may be getting rid of mine, second station with top.Mine was designed for a wider beam.It is a bolt on,you could have converted to a drop down.

The "blank" ends of pipe are where the second station connects. The seat is 2 person. The wheel is still mounted to the box, which has cut outs from old owners electronics. The controls should still be available but I need to double check if they are still around.

Can you let me know how much and where you’re located and how wide is your beam.

Did you ever find what you were looking for ? I built the one that I had on my last boat. I never got to install the electronics and the other stuff before I sold it, but I built the tower sun shade 2 man seat etc...
