Should I do it? -- 27 Judge
stopped over Judge Yachts today and got a plant tour by Bill. I got a chance to check out his facility and how his boats are made. Boy am I impressed! The boat I had wanted when I bought my 2550 MayCraft was the Judge 27 but the price was a bit out of what I could spend at the time. Bill crunched some numbers and threw out a number that has me thinking that one could be in my range. However, i love my boat. I love its performance, economy, and layout. It is just the extras I could get with the Judge like a dinette to the port, colored hull, all composite construction, and small layout tweeks that would make the boat my own. What do you think.. Should I go for it? What do you think a 2005 25 MayCraft w/ electronics, trailer, aftermarket nonskid, etc could go for (there are none on the used market)? Am I over thinking since it is winter or is this something worth while considering? DARN those 27 Judges are sweet!

judge 27
I was attracted to these as well ..very good detail...looked at one at the OC watermans trade show and was totally impressed price included ...the only thing is I am probably spoiled in the solid sound of owning an ocean master as pounding on the side like kicking the tires there is no other...but Judge was probably better than most...even as a new boat price was reasonable

The Judge would be great but......... is the Maycraft paid for? If you really love it why leave it! I watched guys move from boat to boat when i owned a 43' Baybuilt and chartered up on the Ches and now here on the seaside i see guys constanly "moving up" but are they really? No question if you can afford the 27' Judge treat yourself and "move up" but you are almost certain to loose money selling the Maycraft. I want a bigger boat every time I see one for sale but then this thought pops into my head THE RIG YOU GOT IS GOOD AND PAID FOR! My wife kept on me for years to be happy with what I've got and i think (boat wise) I'm there. Besides with everybody "moving up" what happens to all those smaller rigs? I see alot of non biodegradable plastic sitting in boat yards and peoples yards collecting leaves and acid rain!$.02
