Shipping small boat to Panama???

Does anyone on here have some experience of shipping a Center console (+/- 27Ft) to Panama ?? Cost and Duties?
One of my fishing buddies from Africa is moving there and is studying boat options...

From i know capt josh is the man with the most experience of doing so i would believe.. i think i would sell in africa and buy a new one in panama area..

A normal 27' would fit in a standard or hi cube shipping container most probably and could be shipped from any port on the US east coast to panama. You can also use a flatrack or platform(no sides or top), but I would use an enclosed container if possible. I have shipped many of my boats which are larger than what you are asking about, and I typically shipped "breakbulk" on a trailer or a shipping skid.

On the pricing I am unsure since fuel surcharges have gone up. Try wingbridge shipping line, or NYK. I used to pay 3-6K going half that distance, but to a much less popular destination. If you can get it in a shipping container, my guess would be 2-3K, and you can use any line that does container service such as Maersk.

Just had a quote done through an agent to ship a 27' CC to Panama. Cost was around $11,000US for everything including tariffs. I can find out who the agent is if you would like.

I personally have never shipped anything to Panama. I know they just shipped two 38's there and another is one its way. So I am sure that they have it down pat. I will shoot them an email and see what I can get on specifics for you.
