the old school keel drive models were pretty cool...built real well...they didn't ride great, they were a little wet but,you couldn't hurt them...the kcs built shamrocks...well...some were ok,some were not, this rig was one that was not ok-as you could see in the pictures...this is not the first kcs hull i've seen problems with...shelter cove had one,a 246,the hull was delaminated on the bottom,a large section peeled off-not good huh ??? a memebr of this board,he has a 246 open,it's been back to the factory a few times for the same repair...all these are facts-not hear say and not opinion...

Here's my totally unbiased .02 cents. I know nothing about Bo Palmer, nothing about Jimmy, nothing about Shamrock boats. I do have some experience with fiberglass boat construction. The boat Jimmy is working on is a great example of terrible workmanship. Hard to believe anyone would let a boat go out the door of their shop like that. Ofcourse, without Jimmy's x-ray glasses, the buyer couldn't have known what he was getting. Beauty is only skin deep. If Jimmy can fix that mess, he deserves my respect.

replaced the bulkheads-made replacements...reatached the stringers-bonded to hull using epoxy mixed with 403 adhesive, wrapped in alternating layers of 24oz woven matting and 1.5oz chop strand...it was a nasty dirty, dusty job..the boat was built terribly...

the great mr palmer, promised to "pay something towards the repair" for the customer-his words to the owner of this boat, but,he has yet to send him a check, even though he has promised the owner quite a few times.the this point in time, shamrock is bankrupt, but, palmer is working for another company, defiant boats...remember all this...especially if your shamrock hull is still under warranty and it needs work.remember this when you're considering purchasing a defiant boat as well...if anyone doubts me,i can provide the owner's name, and contact information...

That whole situation really sucks but you did a nice job as far as fixing it. I can't complain about either of my shamrocks. I have a 1977 20 center console and a 1995 22 stalker. Both have been in some decent seas and I have not had any issues. I can't speak for anyone who have owned other shamrock boats but I like mine.

my wife, my kids, my practice.

    Boat manufacturers need accountability

Hey man I feel for you. I have been fighting World Cat and Town Creek Marina (in Beaufort, N.C.) for almost a year and to date W.C and TCM all they do is pass the buck and play the blame game.
What I would do, and am going to do, is have a big yellow Lemon banner made and take it to the boat shows where Shamrock boat are being displayed, and put it on the side of your boat. Get t-shirts made with some slogan like "Shamrock, the boat that comes apart at the seams" or " Shamrock boats, we won't make it right the first time". You get the idea. Go stand out in front of the boat shows(preferably at their booth, and hand out these free t-shirts to anyone who stops by to look at their boats. Oh it helps if they are bright lemon in color. Tell the company owner you are going to send him one too. It may help to send him one with a letter with pictures of the banner on your boat in front of a boat show. This may get his attention.
    Good Luck

kisten,i've been in the marine buisness,as owner of a repair facility for over 10yrs,that's a long time.one thing i learned is,manufactures really don't care, they're kinda like most sale people, tell you want they think you want to hear and after they get you to write a check, they're gone...
this palmer guy who owned shamrock, typical lying cheating scumbag-it goes with the territory...
as far as world cats are concerned,i know of 2 first hand, that were taken back by the factory and the owner was issued a replacement hull-that's a fact...my advice to you is,post this as much as possible,on every web site you can find.you're gonna have a few people tell you that you're wrong, and thet you've got some serious head problems...so what ??? get the word out there...
