The SEARCH for a OFFSHORE CC

Well, currently I'm selling a used 1988 32' topaz with 370 hp cummins motors, that has all the Bells and Whistles of a new boat. The boat is mint and shows like new. The price for this classic is 150,000.Email me for info and pics( the pics will be posted soon). Now back to the main thread about the search for the CC! I need a CC that is first and formost CANYON CAPABLE in all means, is fuel efficient, fuel capable (range wise),fish storage (must be able to store a significant amount of tuna in deck boxes) and seaworthiness(has to be able to handle all sea conditions). This CC must have semi- mid high gunnels, live wells, and on the flip side to fishing the inshore waters for striped bass and all other inshore species .As I search all manufacturers of offshore CC in the USED 31" to 34" range. I will post all of my likes and dislikes of all these models and hope this will help readers see what I'm truely looking for in a offshore CC with these options.

Thank You to all that have helped all ready.

Venture 34....

Take a look into the Venture 34.... I fish the WMO on a 39' venture "Wave Dancer" and was very impressed, The dryest center console I have ever been on with no pounding or shuttering at all... That was one of the first ventures to make it to the NE and the reps from venture were more than happy to help make it popular and take care of the " New boat issues" (like every boat has, it was a basically the first of its kind) So that the boat would appeal to not only the florida community but the NE also....

Boat: 32 and 19 center console
Best Catch: havent caught it yet
other than our 32 interpid of course I would vote for the 32 Mirage with the single IO volvo diesel. Awesome hull, good flair, efficient, and with the diesel you can run any speed efficiently...

this is what I would buy if i were hell bent on a cc, but I strongly advise you to think hard and deep and do a few hardcore overnighters on one first. Its rough at times...

Not a fan of the i/o

I have been on a couple of the i/o boats and i know how great they are in steering and in maneuverability but i am just not that great of a fan of this setup. Both of those boats are very nice, love that mirage, what a boat, but that one is a little out of the range for sure.

DEEP DEFIANCE i plan on going down to see that yellowfin in the next couple of days to see the layout and see what i think.I hear great things about those boats and theres not to many for sale.Wish i could find one i little less than that, maybe a older model.

Yesterday i went and got on a couple of boats down south

32' Regulator 32 F/S Center Console
Year: 2005
Current Price: US$ 138,900
Located in Brick, NJ
Hull Material: Fiberglass
Engine/Fuel Type: Twin Gas HPDI

Was not a fan of the regulator, i liked the overall layout it was roomy in the back, but it had low gunnels, seemed like u would not beable to store too many yellowfin in the deck boxes,Forward Seating Absolutely killed everything that i liked and really turned me off to that boat. I wish i was able to get on one that did not have that FS in the bow.Overall very nice boat but just not for me,(glad i got on one)

31' Contender 31 OPEN
Year: 2006
Current Price: US$ 99,900
Located in Brick, NJ
Hull Material: Fiberglass
Engine/Fuel Type: Twin Gas

This contender was nice, it was loaded with a very nice electronics package, i also kept thinking about how low the gunnels on this boat also was, I just kept on thinking of being 80 to 100 offshore with a boat that has extremely low gunnels, this for me was a turn off. Other then that i loved the layout, nice big fish boxes in the bow, nice baitwells in the stern, nice console, larger then normal contenders, but i think i need to go a little bigger so on to the next boat(glad i got on this one) And the price was right for this one with the right power but just not the right boat for me.

34' Venture 34 OPEN
Year: 2001
Current Price: US$ 109,900
Located in Toms River, NJ
Hull Material: Fiberglass
Engine/Fuel Type: Twin Gas HPDI

The venture was nice and had a nice layout, huge fish boxes in the bow, 1 huge box in the stern, baitwell in the stern, huge console with a full enclosure. This boat just felt big and sturdy, and felt like an offshore CC. Nice electronics package,HIGH gunnels that made u feel safe. The only thing that i did not like about this boat was the power that was hanging off the back, with twin 250 yamaha hpdi's is this boat a little underpowered for those overnight canyon runs. Overall i really liked this boat and for being 2 feet or 3 feet larger then the last couple of boats that i looked at, i think i am going to try and stay in the 34" CC class if i can.

I think that Blue YF posted sold. Check Yachtauctions.com right now. There is a 32 Seavee with a couple hundred hours for under 80k (also a 318 Edgewater same price range with 90 hours)

It is def A headturner! And very very fuel eff.Did you take it out for A test run yet?I wanted to know what it did with those engines as far as top end and what the preffered cruise would be?Im guessing 38-39mph cruise and about 51-53 top.Am I safe in saying that?just wanted to know because I wanted to start looking but want the right boat either A yellowfin or invinsible.I agree there is no better CC than yellowfin so give them A try.I dont think even if you went older you would find A better deal than this one.And the 34-36 had some ethonal fuel cell problems. In I believe 03-05models be sure that these problems have been fixed through yellowfin.I have been on the 34 in various down right nasty sea conditions that kept even the biggest boats tied to the dock and it always brought us home safe and never got A stress crack one in it which to me was quite surprising to how hard it was being beat! And the 36 is suppose to be better than the 34 with the added weight in the bow and is really capable of batting those seas down!
