Sea View, Seatek, Out Island?

im confused. can anyone explain the relationship between the Seaviews, Seateks, and Out Island 36? to me they all look like the same hull. I heard someone say that Out Island stopped making the 36 because there wasnt enough engine space? any truth to that? and if so why would Seatek still be making boats on that hull?

Thumbs up Here Ya go.....

First there was the SeaView 36'. Problems arose for the builder and to make matters worse, parts did not fit well and tooling was a disaster. Along came Out Island. OI invested in SeaView and contracted for 3 boats (in parts). Out Island completed those 3 boats as 36's and eventually purchased the molds from SeaView. Then the design and re-tooling began. The boat was streched amidships to incorporate a larger ER and Head as well as an on-deck rod locker. This also gave the boat a better balance, enabled more HP and a larger fuel tank. and hence a faster, better ride than the other boats You mentioned. There were some changes to the Stringer sys. and interior lay-out as well as a huge move in a positive direction as far as fit and finish. OI has built over 30 38'er's to date and all are bad ass boats. Now for SeaTek....A very, very nice boat. Built from the original 36 SeaView plug and finished very nicely by a totally new owner. She does not have the speed of the 38 Oi,however, She will raise fish just the same. And these boats raise fish!
I hope this helps and I am pretty sure of the sequence and facts or pretty close anyway!
