    sea craft/mercury

First off, has anyone fished on a newer, say 2000 and up 23 sea craft? I know alot of people like the older ones, and they haven't really changed, but not much is said about the newer ones.

second, does anyone have any experence with the merc optimax? One of my biggest concerns, you guessed it, fuel mileage. I really want a 4-stroke, but they are few and far between. Thanks guys

the truth will set you free....

new sea crafts vs the legend sea craft....the two are not the same...build quality, fit and finish all are just not the same...
engines...this is what i do for a living,so,with that i think i can give you a very accurate description....
the merc optimax are very good engines, not the best, but they're very good...incredibly fuel efficient as well as powerful.4strokes,there's a whole maintainance factor to contend with, not like the 2strokes,with the new bombardier e-tec engine, the fuel economy isn't all that different....personally i don't like the 4 strokes, they're heavy and they have a huge failure potential, they're just not for me....the e-tec engine is the best available engine(in my opinion) on the market today, followed by the hpdi yamaha...
