    Scout 350 Abaco

Dear guys, I'm moving from inboard to outboard, and I'm new on the market for this type of boats. Do someone of you have experience with this boat? what about seaworthiness in rough seas, about noise when running with that couple of Yamaha F350? Thanks so much for your suggestions

you mean moving from inboard to outboard instead I guess? Why? Outboard expresses lose so much fighting room at the transom.

because inboard diesels are too problematic. high maintenance costs and low reliability if you do not make lots of hours per year.

i would move to a CC then, but thats just me. A lot of the bigger CC's have quite a bit of room inside the consoles nowadays. For the same money you can get a Yellowfin 42.

I'm so tired to repair diesel engines that I would accept to spend 400000usd for a outboard boat instead of a same price inboard one. Apart from the price (that could be certainly reduced due to the actual world economical situation), doesn't anyone had run this boat? no impressions and/or critics from some boatshows visited? I'm asking this because in Italy there are not 350 Abaco yet. Thanks again

Like I said, I would go with one of the Monster CC/Fisharounds if i was spending that kind of money and didn't want a Diesel. A Venture, Intrepid, Yellowfin or SeaVee would be my choice. With that said, the boats are well put together (they ought to be for that kind of money) but there is not as much cockpit room as there should be on a boat that size.

    I hear you,

Topaz, what you say is true to some degree. Diesel engines are not trouble free like we all think when we get into this sport. That said, my next boat will still be a diesel inboard, but I like to work on things too. However, I did buy a scout this year. Not a big one mind you but a 170 costa. I bought it from Minmar Marine in sea isle and I could not be happier with everything about the boat. Very well made, and a dealer that really cared about making it right. Scout makes a great boat in my opinion. If thats what you want, thats what you want. I see a ton of big gradys out there and want to ask those guys WHY???????? but thats another subject. I dont think the scout boat will dissapoint you.

thank you for your answers. My experience with diesels has been too sad to repeat it again. So, maybe I'm making a jump on the dark by passing from IB to OB, but I'd like to have one or two smoke-and-zincs-free seasons with a pair of outboards. I know that I'm loosing in seaworthiness (my 32' weighs 25000lbs and the 350 Abaco only 16000lbs) but maybe by a couple of years I'll come back to IB again... I do not consider CCs because I need for some cabin for doing some coastal cruises with the family. That's why my choice is vinculated to very few models (pursuit OS345-375, Scout 350Ab, Intrepid 390 and few others)
If You have some other suggestions in some other models pls let me know, thanks in advance
