    Scale Models

While doing my daily jaunt through the Sportfisherman forums I came upon a post with pictures from the Ft. Lauderdale boat show. Within that thread was a picture of a scaled down sport fisher. I am wondering if anyone has any leads as to what vendor was selling that model or of a company that sells these types of kits. Building an "actual size" boat is logistically out of the question but I would like to try my steady hand at building a scale model. All I have found so far on the net have been military, sail, and cruising vessels. Are there any scale model hobbiests on this forum? Thanks in advance.

Seacraft classics also builds scale boat models, I have personally dealth with them. A model like that will cost you about $3-5k or more depending on the overall size and detail involved. They aren't cheap.

This is static (no motor just for looks) but we do make radio controlled versions. This version is built for just one client of ours he orders from me and sells them

    Erg,
there is a fella down in Wanchese that has a few scale model hulls built. I saw a couple of them laying around his shop the other day. They are just the base hull, ready to be finished as you like. Sounds like thats what you might be looking for, let me know and I'll see if i can get you in touch with him.

I just received a quote from them for $13,000.00 to make one 2' long for my custom 48' express and that includes a case.

    Whew!!!!!!!

My ego or my wallet isn't big enough to have a 2' model of my boat built.

    Hummmmm!

13K will buy an awful lot of fuel maybe I'll just tape the trips and have it play on a continuous loop on my 50" wall mounted flat screen in my office instead.

13large. I'm with you fortunate. That's a little high but it seems, by the looks of their site, that it is mostly big money commercial clients that they work with.
