Salt Water to Fresh Water cooling conversion

What would it take to convert my 5.7 Merc I/O to a fresh water cooled system. Costs, benefits, pros/cons. Is it worth it, etc.

I'm just kicking around the idea as a winter project. Let me hear your feedback.

there's kits available,however...with an older "rebuilt" engine,adding fresh water cooling is kind of a waste of money...no offense...
