    Rust in my nonskid

We have rust stains/dots all over our nonskid from the boat next to us in dry dock using his grinder. Tried using a rubbing compound, and a few different standard rust removers. But cannot get it out. I'm thinking about using acid but not sure how it will go on 4 year old AwlGrip. Suggestions? Thanks.

I have had the same problem, I mixed a product called 'On & OFF' with a little water, it contains acid but takes the rust stains off the deck right away and did not damage it. You can buy it at any marine supply store

FSR is the best rust mover I have found. It is a blue gel, made with oxycilic acid, but does not burn your skin, corrode your metal, etc. Just brush it on, let it sit 4 or 5 minutes, and rinse. It is also great for brighting up the topsides of the boat. I use it regularly. It does great removing rust stains from vinyl, as well as spray sunscreen stains from vinyl and fiberglass.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately we cannot find any of those good products here in Madeira. I ended up finding some European stuff that came in a white power form and took it off after a few tries. That 'Wink' stuff sounds like the chit. I'll stock up in it next time I have to get supplies from the states. Thanks.

Starbrite do a pretty badass rust stain remover as well bro. Comes in a spray bottle.
Flitz or autosol and a tooth brush will sometimes get it out if it isn't deep in the non skid.

A squirt of ospho is another way to get it off but is nasty ****

You will find "Wink" at your grocery store, look in the bathroom supply-cleaning section.
