I spent some time on a 38 Rose Brothers....nice riding boat, really raised fish well. They were built in Harkers but they haven't been for some time.In the day they were one of the sport boats of choice.
That looks like a very nice example of one.

That boat looks like the old Buck-a-Roo (Palm Beach-Hilton Head) or the Elf III (Boyton Beach). ............. possibly a Whiticar????.

Have no doubt its a rose brothers built in harkers Island after a little seaching. But she is definatly modeled after a stuart whiticar and not a palmbeach boat. In the early days of carolina flaired, broken shear, tumblehome . of what we recognize today. The Original carolina power SF boats were like the mr ernal fosters Albatros fleet. Then the builders in harkers Island and Warren O niel up around wanchese started building Florida style boats at a much cheaper price then the Fl. builders. that was around late 50s early 60s. I never realized tho til this boat about the whiticar<> rose brothers conection in style. I new they copied the early rybovich lines and then just kept adding more flair and more tumble home over the years.

Thanks for all the info and homework. The lines and style are awesome. With an unlimited checkbook, this would be an awesome resto, with updated equipment, engines, electronics, etc....

First I need to figure out how to get an unlimited checkbook then figure out how to move to south FL, then ..............

well, the move to south florida won't be that hard since your brother (me) already lives in Key West and that boat is located in Summerland Key. I drive by it every day on my way to work.
The checkbook thing....that's another story. and convincing your wife....that's a WHOLE nother story.

but yeah, i can envision that boat completely redone and modernized with updated engines, electronics, etc... would be sweet!!

    Man, she's gorgeous!

If ever there was a nice classic Keys boat she's it.

It looks like someone took great care of her.

Elf III and Capt Mike Zubak

I filled in for Mike's mate on a charter one Christmas Eve some twenty years ago.

That boat is a true classic and Mike Zubak is a South Florida fishing legend.
