Rocket Sled vs. Medium sized Sportfish?

I'm in the process of trying to determine what I want out of my future fishing boat. Right now I've been kind of torn between a 40-45ft sportfish or a large cc. So I'd like to hear opinions of those who have done both or have good insight. Below are examples of what I am considering. Thanks!

i have a 41 viking thats the same model and it is much nicer to fish on overnight than any center console could be. go inside, cook dinner, shower and sleep... or just go it to watch a movie and get out of the cold. also nice to have the inboards if you are trolling. if you are looking for speed, the viking isnt the way to go and the yellowfin is

Spoken like a true go fast guy !!! me i like a roof over my head and warm place to sleep, But I'M A OLD NASTY F.... according
to my crew...Nice to have choices, go for some rides, decide what kinda stuff and fishing you like to do,if you got a family include them, cause your all gonna live with it for a while , cause the moment you buy it it becomes a big hole in the water you pour your money in.

    Lance,

I'm not an old man yet, but I'm not as young as I used to be either. I have absolutely no interest in going 45 to 70 knot's fishing. I like the idea of being able to get out of the sun, rain and spray. The idea of a hot meal, warm bed and air conditioning don't sound too bad to me either. I've got a C/C that I like and I can afford (it's no speed demon), does what I want it to do. I can put this boat in my shop and not worry about it. If I could afford a boat and a place (a dock) to keep it , I would definitly go with a small to med sportfish, just for the comfort's. The day's you can fish a medium sportfish as appossed to the day's you can fish a big C/C isn't going to be a consideration. Frank,SeaPower

I've got a small to medium sportfish - used to have a CC that could top 50 on a good day...

I live 3 hours from the water. If I didn't have the SF, I'd need a place to stay overnight.

It is also a huge convenience to have lockable doors. I don't have to haul everything off the boat every time... I can keep extra gear - just in case I need it... Oh yeah - a shower feels great on the ride back in...
I also like the visibility from the flybridge.

Id go with the sportfish. How many days a year that you can actully get out and fish is it calm enough to run 50-70 mph anyway?

Thumbs up Just buy them both and you know you will be satisfied!

warranty means everything in this ball game unless you have unlimited amounts of money! That being said,I would chose the Yellowfin on that fact and only on that fact as the vike is An old boat with no warranty and unless if your ready to loose your ass in an overhaul and or repower of about 125-150k and paint and interior and what not,I would rather have the warranty of possibly 5 years remaning and the boat is A proven boat. With A resale that is out of this world! Not many seas that the yellowfin cant take that the vike would be better in.AND thats A fact my boy!Might not be as comfy or the creature comforts and isnt A partybarge but for the hardcore fisherman that wants the advantages or 360degree fishability and not having to keep it in any one particular location this would be the boat of my choice! Now if the question was about An older center console I would speak of the warranty concerns also!

Had em both, Sportfish no question, but it will be more money in maintenance.
