Rock Salt 34 - Splash and Run

    Hi All,

We've been a little quiet - working hard on a couple of projects - sorry.

Thought some of you might enjoy an update.

Took the unfinished boat out for a sea-trial late last week.

Boat was great. We put 1800 lbs of water onboard to replicate 300 gallons of fuel (represent 2/3rds of a full fuel tank) and ran 58-59 mph WOT and a nice cruise of 36 mph at 4000 rpm. Boat was solid, fast and dry....

There just has to be a way of getting twin IPS or Zuse in that boat, or has anybody heard anything more about those 300hp Deisel outboards being developed over there?

Good looks and excellent numbers from your prototype captain. Look forward to watching her evolve.

I like the rough look as well. I'm sure that for gov't and military applications we'll just blast the hull to make a uniform finish and then put down adhesive non-skid tape but many rec fishermen want a more finished looking boat!

SeaBiscuit and Flatdog - thank you.

SeaBiscuit - we can certainly do 2 Zeus or IPS drives - as a matter of fact we'd love to!

    Beautiful boat you're building there.

Can't wait to see the first blood on the deck.

Hey Jay looks great The one thing I notice is the Top overhang If you welded 3 tubes across the rear top mounting tubes you could mount 10-12 more rod holders which is nice to clear the gunnel for for a gaff shot or out of the way tag stick gaff brush etc stuff that is handy to have out?
Did you do the under floor cuddy idea you had???
