Question Replacing bag phones

Last year I bought the DA4000 amp and a 4ft antenna to use with my handheld cell phone to hopefully replace my old analog bag phone on the boat. I have not had the time to put this system together yet to try it out. Has anyone had any experience using this amp & antenna setup? Thanks.

Mackey,

You first need to hook up your voltage regulators to the IC semiconductors which will then connect to the non-inductive dummy load of the potentiometer. You then need to connect you antenna to the toriodal transformer and then to the bridge rectifier. I would highly suggest to run the load through a 4 ohm non-inductive dummy load resistor. And if you want to be able to talk to martians, you need a Avel 236750 330VA 25V+25V Transformer.

Good luck,

Bill

Thanks Bill,
I was wondering what I was doing wrong, this clears it up. But you sure about the 25V+25V transformer, couldn't a 220V AC transducer coupled with a series of 35 ohm transistors do the same.
