I have run the C80 for the last couple of years on my Trophy and have it integrated with the DSM250 and RD218 2kW 18" Radome . The P66 Transom Mount transducer has been fine for inshore work but utterly under performing for deeper game fishing requirements ie. depths of 150m +. As such I recently fitted the Airmar TM258 1kw transducer transom mounted with a few modifications to make it fit and usable. I would have gone through hull but I trailer her around the country so it was going to be inpractical based on available units

Overall very very happy with the features and functionality ! ! ! and Raydar Overlay onto the GPS is superb

    Furuno to Garmin for me...!

I fish with a family who has all ray stuff ... at this time I think he would pay you to take it away. Flashing, hard to use, screen does not keep up...lots more on the list just look hard at what your getting into.

I've had the C120 with DSM 300, GPS and 2KW Radar, all integrated for 4 years now.

I had some very minor issues with the unit, namely the screen getting scratches, but they fixed that for free and I put one of those protective clear covers on it.

I'm very happy with the unit. The fishfinder is remarkable, even with a simple 600watt transom mount transducer. (FYI, I rarely fish over 100')

    Thumbs up electronics

I would highly recommend the Raymarine products. I have used the C series as well as the E series for years. The current C series has updated software I believe (4.27) which gives you the capability of using the platinum chips similar to the E series. You do not get the video capability as well as you can not network the system as well. For the small boats who cares about networking. As far as the fish-finder, the DSM30 is all you need and you will save money as well. I use a shoot though the hull transducer (raymarine E66008) and believe me I have no trouble determining what is fish and what is not. As far as radar the RD218 is spot on. The best small boat radar for the money in my opinion. I love it. It's simple to use and combined with the RS125 GPS, it can't be beat for what you pay for. I also recommend a radar mount with a 4 deg forward angle. See my sig pic. I also found BOE to give some of the best pricing around. Good luck on whatever you choose.

Does any one have first hand experience with both E series and C series raymarine that can tell me if the extra cost of the E series is worth the expense? It looks like for me the only advantage is the chartography of the E to except the platinum charts. They do look pretty neat with the 3D view and all but I am not sure for me if it is worth it. Using on a 23' foot CC there is no need for the video input or outputs. I will only be using the Fishfinder (DSM-300), GPS (Raystar 125) and Radar (RD218 Dome I think..thoughts?) I fish the north shore of Massachusetts, coastal out to the inner humps. Thanks in advance for any advise.

I'd go with Northstar. I have raymarine for radar, weather, and fishfinder its nice but if i could do it over again id go with Northstar.
