Radar Trouble

I have a Furuno Radar Unit that shows a trouble signal on the screen. The trouble showing is indicating inside the dome it's not turning. Is the unit shot or are they repairable?

How old is the unit? If its more then a few years old, take off the radome cover and check to see if the rubber band strap which goes from the motor sprocket to the antenna sprocket has slipped off either sprocket. These bands some times slip with age as they stretch out. If so, replace the band, because it will happen again. The newer Furuno's are gear to gear direct, no more bands.
