I just replaced my Raydome on my boat. Furuno 1712 radar. I need a tech to calibrate the radar now. Anyone on this board know how to set it up? Boat is on the lift right now.
Thanks, John

Call Drew at Midshore Electronics. 410-213-1212 They are located by Sunset Marina and travel. Best service around hands down.

As stated in the other post Give Drew or Ed a call at Marteck in west OC
I will second Drew with Midshore.
I currently use Martek, and they are good as well.
I guess Drew no longer works for Martek?
Thanks for the replies. Vaca 7/7 , going to set up an appt.
Thanks, John
Hey John - you could call Martek, too, they also do a good job but all of these techs will be expensive. If you want to give it a shot yourself first, here's the drill:
Head directly for a solid target, such as a buoy. Should that object’s target reflection appear to be off to port or starboard instead of dead ahead, a heading adjustment is required. Note the degree difference, and follow the correction adjustment in your owner's manual. (It's usually pretty simple.)
Then, steer right down the middle of the channel. Look at the sides of the channel as shown by the marker returns on your display; if they tend to bow inward or outward, then you need to set the timing adjustment. Again, this is usually a fairly simple operation described in the manual. Good luck!
Lenny, Welcome to the site!

Thanks for the tip Lenny. I'll look thru the manual,
I wonder if there is a tech who could use a few bucks on the side to do the job.
