Question;Sirius/XM Marine Weather Overlay
I have a Humminbird 997c SI Combo & I allso have Sirius radio. Question; I would like to overlay Marine Weather onto my Humminbird if at all possible. Sirius or XM doesn"t matter which one, and if possible what equipment is needed. If not possible my cheapest option to add Sirius Marine Weather, as I already subscribe to Sirius. ><))))> Regards; gut fish ?

I think you got to the humming bird website and see if they offer either service for your unit. either way you are going to have to buy a 800.00 black box to make it work.

I have XM on my Garmin.
I like it and it works well. It's worth the investment - IMO |

Navnet uses XM. Humminbird does not offer satellite weather. You need either Garmin, Furuno, Northstar or Raymarine. Furuno, Northstar and Ray use Sirius and Garmin uses XM. What I and most people I deal with have found is that XM is much better. I'm pretty sure both systems use the same data, but Garmin/XM presents it much better.
Since you can't get your humminbird to display weather your cheapest option is to get a unit like a Garmin 440X or 376. The 440X is your least expensive option at less than $700/ |

You can also do this through a computer if you have one on the boat. I use a tablet PC and the wxworx system. The wxworx system will run around $700 and you need to add the weather subscription for XM.

Satellite weather is great. Wouldn't leave home without it. Would beg to differ on "most people liking XM better than Sirius". Sirius has a great product as displayed on my E120. And they offer more for the money as far as monthly fees go.
Cheers & Merry Christmas

I personally have Sirius on my E120 and XM on my Garmin 5212. I use them both and think XM/Weather Worx is light years ahead of Sirius.
