    HI Provincial Boats

Anyone ever had a chance to ride one of these boats? They are sweet looking and would love to have a chance to ride or buy one. I have a New England style boat here in Hawaii which is very rare. Most of the boats here in Hawaii are radon styles from California but I love the ride my boat has, the way it cuts through the water and drifts. Our seas that we fish here is an average of 6 - 8 footers with an occasional days in the ocean of 12 - 18 feet, 20 - 25 knot winds. My boat is 25' and would love to upgrade one of these days with another one with the same style and the lines of the provincial is just an artform.

How do they ride and the speed of this boat would be interested to find out. Also, I notice that most of these boats only come with one engine. We usually have twins here in case one goes out.

    ME waves?

Are waves in Hawaii different than waves in New England?

I had a 30 ft downeast style charterboat. Single inboard screw that I ran out of Gloucester, MA for about 10 years. There is No Way that I would take out a charter if the seas were worse than 3 to 4 feet on the way out. We have been stuck in 8-10 fters on the way back in and have to run at 10 knots or less. Yea I did have it in 20 fters on a trip. Played submarine with blue water rolling over the deck and windshiled. Scary. The full bow of the downeast displacement hull design has pleanty of bouyancey to pop it back out from under the waves. Not something I would want to try in a V hull
