After swapping out motors from one boat to another I have the twin Yamaha 200's close to alignment by eye. What is the best way to get them aligned and should they be slightly toed in/out or nuetral?

I like the twins pointing up and out slightly, but Im sorry I dont know about how the motors should be set. When I did my old scarab (twin mercurys) I did them parallel but that may not be the best.
here's the best way to do...
run the boat in smooth water, get it up on plane, remove the tiller bolt on the engine without the hydraulic cylinder on it-i know, sounds crazy, but trust me,this is how to do it,the engine will center itself, when it does, position the linkage arm against it and mark where you need to be...make the adjutment at the dock, then test run it again, till you have it right...
do the same thing for rudders on a big boat...
naughtyI'm with you on the twins position!
jawz Yes, I agree, it does sound crazy! I'm thinking a hard shell helmet and a PFD would be best. I suppose with the force exerted on the non attached motor it would right itself without swinging port or starboard and train with the motor on the steering piston.
