We were at the marina today, after taking a little sixty mile run in the Contender, and noticed a boat we have not seen before, sitting on a triple axle trailer with a For Sale sign on it with a local phone number on the sign.
It's a Pro Sport ProKat 2860 Walkaround. We have long been interested in an 'over nighter' for these shallow waters, and in looking up the specs I see that this boat has a draft of 13 inches.
I don't know the boat, at all. I am used to seeing World Cats here, there are a lot of them, and a few Glacier Bays and some Twin Vees....
Anyone know anything about the ProKat 2860? Visually, it looked good. Twin Yammie 200s on it.
if price is right might be a good deal,you can find a millon good n bad posts on prokat - see hulltruth, is it as high end as a world cat, no, But for its price not a bad ride, upgrade hardware and pumps and you got a good riding hull,fast n smooth, i ran a 22 walkaround for years did the job and felt safe running it 80 miles offshore on many trips, shallow draft also.Hull was solid no stress cracks anywhere, unlike several other of my friends cats.

But it sounds like it's at least worth looking into. Who knows, might be an investment banker with vacation property down here who suddenly could be liquidating some assets.
