    Piney Ridge Boatworks Report

Got a little side job finishing a commercial Mullet skiff for a friend of mine.

He got this boat and it was almost finished, and he wanted to make a couple of changes.

I had to fill in the transom cutout for a jet.

trim the keel back 3' to allow for the jet to get good water.

Mount the Jet Lower Unit to the new Evinrude etec 60

finish the console, cleats, limber holes and a few other touch ups and rig and wire.

It has been fun. I promised it to him by April 1st. Better get rollin.

I laminated up plywood the same thickness as the transom, cut to fit.

routered and Splined with a 1/2" piece of plywood all the way around the old transom cut out.

Glued (epoxy) in fill in piece.

wrapped the whole thing in a **** load of fiber glass.

**** load is a technical term for about 4 layers overlapping of 1808 biax.

    smeared, primmed, painted.

top coat with cream awlgrip today.

If we don't fish tommorow, I will be hanging the motor, starting to run some wires tommorow, and priming the console.

That's a **** hot explaination. I was wondering if you overlap 4", 6", ??" the seam between existing stern and new section.

Yeah, of course the more overlap the stronger it will be, overkill is better.

Thanks, I just wasn't sure if there was a specific formula or minimum amount. Good looking little skiff.

Yep, you stand on the platform about 1/3 of the way back and the console is mounted to that.

Got to be up where you can see em!
