    Pilot House for a C/C,

I guess you could call it age or something, seems the older I get the less I like "spray". I've got a C/C that I really do like, 25ft, has a nice wide high bow (10 ft wide),extremely stabile, load's of room, no fluff just a good boat (25 ft Keith Willis DownEaster 1988 era). I've got a stainless framed tee top (hard top) and a big console, it has curtain's on the front and sides, with wing's that can be rolled down to keep extra wind and spray off. I've been kicking around the idea of a pilot house arrangement that will afford complete protection from the front and sides, Kind of a mini wheel house. I don't want to add alot of weight or take up too much room. I just like the idea of being able to shut the element's out when it get's bad (seem's to do that pretty regular with me). I'd like to be able to store rod's, tackle and electronic's behind a closed door. I saw a pilot house like what I'm thinking about on a Henrique's Charter boat in Atlantic City. Also the old Shamrock's had something simular, but a little smaller than what I had in mind.I would like to put the house a little bit further ahead of where the console is now, without moving too much weight forward. I saw an outfit making freestanding structure's like this a few year's back, I think they were pretty cost prohibitive. Any idea's would be well accepted, Thank's. Frank,SeaPower

A couple of years ago, I put a hard top on my boat - it had been fabric previously. None of the tower guys would touch it without also replacing the half tower, curtains, etc - I wound up getting some prefab Fiberglass panels from ETEC - I'd bet these would do the trick for you. You would probably need to build out your tower legs to support the joints, then screw the panels to the legs.

My hardtop is made of solid fiberglass panels, but I believe they also offer foam cored panels. With those, you could probably join them with fiberglass tape and make it freestanding...

There are places up here in NE that make pilothouse's-romarine, alcar, nauset marine. Personally, I like the Alcar's...think they run about $2g's though. I have a piolothouse (dog house) on my boat and love it.

Google Pacific Pilothouse, they may have what you are looking for.
