Paul Spencer Yachts Miami Boat Show

I took a tour of the Spencer 59 and the Spencer 43 express with the IPS drives.
All I can say is WOW these two boats were gorgeous! The fit and finish is second to none and "clean" both inside and out.

One thing I asked about was about the IPS systems Ability to withstand a "hit" from a log, sandbar, etc. The answer was simple. What I was told was this: If you hit a log or sandbar the IPS is designed to, under a big hit to "break away" costing the same as, or less then replacing the shaft, rudder, wheel(s) and struts. When the system is hit it will not rip a big hole in the hull and sink you. From what I was told this system is unbeilveable as the engines run more efficiant, the boat runs smother and the engines dont loose their tourque and horsepower through a shaft system.

Pics of the 59 spencer.
The pics say it all about the inside of this boat. Just so clean and un-cluttered.
