Painting Aluminum tanks

I'm about to rip open my floors to change my fiberglass tanks to aluminum tanks, thanks to this E10 crap gas. Question, is there any special paint that I should be painting my new aluminum tank with before closing up the floor? Also any other suggestions of what else to do with the area surrounding the tank?

I would use a epoxy based paint for a durable finish. The film is a harder finish vs oil finish over a primer

i etch prime the aluminum surface, followed by coating with inter protect 2000,the same barrier coat i use on the bottom of boats...make it as thick as a match book cover....
if you skip the etch prime process, the epoxy may not stick as well....

etching primer, then coaltar epoxy.Make sure there are no brush hairs in the primer coat before it dries, they will make a void in the seal.
