Outriggers
i just recently purchased a 210 center console with a soft t top. i want to put outriggers on the t-top but i want to make sure the t top can handle them. i am planing on putting the taco grand slam mount on a piece of fiberglass that runs on the underside of the top of the t-top right above the electronics box. my question is is the fiberglass strong enough to hold the outriggers with just backing plates or do i need more support?
any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated Thanks, Matthew |

No don't use fiberglass ,my company builds T tops for many boat companys as well as custom T tops ,It needs an plate welded in on 3 sides if possible ,we use 3/8'' thick but 1/4 would work, also you might need a wedge to make the Grand Slams perfectly vertical ,Taco sells them ,this corrects them for any crown you have in your top ,they have 6 degree and 11 degree wedges ,the biggest cost for our customers is when we have to de rigg a top when there are wires running thru an area where we need to weld ,if you are able to de rigg it yourself you can save yourself some money, good luck
