Out Board Bracket Project

My first bracket was a fiberglass bracket incorporated into the hull construction. This is a bolt on wide enough for two v6 OBs . I made a mold to it. I will have the abilitie to narrow it 14 in. from the same mold. All vinylester resin and biaxial glass with coosa board for engine support. No wood! I never liked the idea of aluminum brackets?

nice job...looks real similar to the bracket my buddy don herman,hermco,makes...
the fiberglass brackets are the way to go.a big tub like that,it will provide flotation to the transom area, something most boats with outboard brackets need-the engines far aft, this usually upsets the balance, some mfg's actually add balast weight to their boats when they're equipped with brackets-grady white was one of them...

Thanks jim for the compliment.

Someone once told me imitation is the truest form of flattery. I looked at his bracket and thought it was the best choice. I built mine a little wider than his . 59in wide where it bolts on at top.48 in. at mount for twin engines. 30 in set back for tilting up a big OB? I just retired from my real paying job and I am returning to what I love but never made much money at? Working on boats?-$ Thanks again Jim. I got a go grind some glass? Jay
