    Question Opinions please...

I'm looking for a small cc and would like your opinions on the following three. Each is equiped with same equipment (trailer, fish finder/GPS, etc...), but, all three have different motors.

    2006, 20' Sea Mark. This is a dealer demo powered by a 115 Mercury 4 stroke. $14,900

    Opinions please...-20seamark.jpg

    2006, 19' C-Hawk. Low hours on 115 Honda. $15,000

    Opinions please...-19seahawk.jpg

    2005, 18' May Craft. Low hours (180) on 115 Yamaha 4 stroke. $13,200

    Opinions please...-18may-craft.jpg

So assuming everything is solid, motors good, which would you take? Yes, the boat would be surveyed PRIOR to purchase...just looking for boat/motor information. This boat will be used for striper fishing on a big lake. So fella's...tell me the good/bad/ugly.

Think I would go with the May Craft then the Sea Mark. Both are made in NC (FWIW) and are ok boats.

I would go with the Maycraft especially since it has a Yamaha which I prefer. My buddy has a 19' with a 115 yam. and he did have to shim the motor to keep it from porpoising so keep that in mind if you should experience that issue in a test run. It is a solid boat. The sea Mark looks to be bottom painted which leads me to believe it sits in the water alot and could have crustacean buildup on the motor. I would buy a boat that is trailered over one that stays in the water but that's just my preference and in no way is a reflection on anyone's boat.
    Good luck!

Hey Bo...this boat will be used on the lake while I'm stuck out here in middle America. Not sure how much fuel they hold, but since it would be used on the lake, not overly concerned with huge fuel capacity.

The Maycrafts I've seen and been on have been built like tanks. No Frills, but solid.

My only concern with the boat would be 180 hours in 5 years - has it been winterized properly each year? What about water pump, etc?

May Craft with the Yamaha. I looked at a May Craft prior to buying my boat. They put a lot of heft into the hull. It does not have a liner but it is a solid hull. The Yamaha 4 stroke would seal it for me.
    Good luck!

i had a Maycraft 1850 with a Yamaha 115 two stroke... the thing will fly and is easy on fuel, had a 50 gallon tank under the console. not much storage space, but a great fishing platform...... Ken May worked for C-hawk for years and went out on his own.... built in Smithfield, NC. Stay away from a T-top, it will make casting rough sometimes...
