Opinions on boat handling

I have been looking at getting a larger boat and noticed that the older model Wellcraft Scarabs center consolees are pretty cheap. I am talking about the 84-95 models in the 30-32' range. Does anybody on here have any information or opinions on how these boats ride in rough water and just overall performance? It looks like it would be a wet boat but, I have never been on one and would like some feedback on them. Any information would be appreciated.
Thanks

I know a guy that restored one and says it rides great. I also know people that have fished on his boat that said it was an absolutely terrible ride. Sorry- I know this doesn't help much...

I used to own a Chris Craft 31' Scorpion which is pretty close to the Scarab.
They are wet if you run them slow but if you run them like they are ment to be run which is cruising at 30 to 40 knots you won't get wet. You might go airbourn or you might get beat to death depending on the conditions but you will be at where you're going quickly.
They have low center of gravity with narrow beam so they don't roll too bad for a deep V bottom boat.
They are fairly cheap these days because there's allot of them on the market. I'm not aware of too many hidden problems. You can tell by appearance the one's that have been beat to death. Check the transom for rotten core material. Again visual signs like stress cracks or improperly sealed holes drilled in the transom might warrant some further investigation.
Mine wasn't too bad on fuel consumption. Probably got about a mile or so a gallon with older pair of EFI engines.
Hope this helps.

This boat is somewhat newer than the boat you are searching for but is lightly used and in better that excellent shape. It has been mostly used as a tender and not fished hard.
See the link below.
