I owned one for 3 years. I did like the boat but as you mention, the cockpit is smallish. The bridge is largish for a 35. I had 3208TAs and cruised at 18 knots at 2400. Engines ran perfect, 4 blade props, simply a slow boat. Rode good at 18 knots though and got .66nmpg. Tight, tight engine room. Gilligan can get to the outsides of the engines but not many other people.

When I bought mine, the wood in the gunnels was completely rotted and I knew that going into it. The fix was not so bad but it happened because the rod holders came from the factory screwed in...not sealed and through bolted. Many of that vintage had soft areas in the transom. Mine did not.

Full disclosure, mine had an engine room fire during a fishing tournament and burned out from under me. Don't know what happened but my best guess based on what I saw for a full 5-7 seconds was that the fire started at the turbo.
