Which one would you choose?

If you had a choice between Contender, SeaCraft, Regulator for a 23'CC which one would you pick and why? Its for the del. bay, maybe some close reef action, and back bays and inlets. I love them all and they're all great, but I'm gonna have to decide. Its going to have a 250 4-stroke Yamaha on the back. The regulator is about 600 pounds heavier than the others. The SeaCraft has a step in it which makes the bows gunnel height pretty low. Haven't found a real dislike on the contenders yet, except that they're more $!! So which one would you choose?

Boat: CONTENDER 36 CUDDY 23 OPEN 36 FISHAROUND
Home Port: EAST COAST
Best Catch: There is always something better!
All 3 of them are great boats, and are in the upper tier and can't go wrong with any of the choices.

Contender is a semi custom production and caters to you

Regulator and Seacraft are pretty much straight production and no custom really.

All depends on what suits you. A wellcraft or a hydrasport may even fit you all float and trailer and fish

There are pluses and minus to everything.

Reg 23 and Contender have a great resale in a sense depending on all the stats. Not too familiar with the seacraft and thier deal

Some of the differences that you see with price tags on boats is quality of materials like the thru hull chrome dipped bronze pits after minimal use

Things like that. All builders have thier costs.

To me its the opposite of cars you can get any Japanese car and get the same high mileage on all of them depending on your care.

There is much more with boat, more $$$ usually means a better boat with higher quality materials not always tho

It really all depends on what works best for you and what price tag and design will suit your needs.

Regulator is not too far behind Contender in price and seacraft is in and around the loop somewhere.

I am got your boat in my mind and keep trying here or there. I am still sorting thru my email at the moment not sure if you did or not but my email was shut down and it was supposed to send an automated reply back to you to contact me on my cell phone and that I was out of the office

Talk to you soon

Hey Tags hows it going man...

I'd hate to knock a sponsor who sells Contender.... But the 23 Regulator rides better than the Contender... The Regulator is a touch slower.... I had a Regulator and my best friend had the Contender both awsome boats but the Regulator is a better ride the Contender is faster.... The Regulator had less trouble with cosmetics and wiring than the Contender... The Contender is fast sleek and sexy and a bit narrower and lighter...... Contender does stand behind there product and is very helpful...... Regulator was a pleasure to work with also..

PM me if you want to talk about the two and the pro's and con's from a netural person who fished the hell out off both the boats your looking at...

I am sorry but with a single 250 the Regulator is a poor choice. Sluggish performance and not great economy. Now with twiins that hull comes alive. I don"t believe the Sea Craft belongs in the conversation with the other two, the quality is just not comparable. The 23 Contender will give better performance if your choice is a single engine and ride will be fairly comparable to the reg,

Anyway just MHO, nice choice to have and good luck.
