I am trying to remember {I am old} I think the name was dalton and the company eventually closed up and now spencer has taken over the property. It does look like one of those sportman boats from the limitted pictures. The original Warren O neal boats looked more like a rybovich then the present day carolina flair boats. most of the original builders worked for warren except on sunday. That was a day of rest.

Look on the transom and tell me what the name is on her now, or climb in the engine room and get the official # and I will tell you who built her.

If it was built by Sportsman Boatworks, maybe it is the Miss Remy.
I am not convinced yet that she is a Sportsman.
Certainly tabasco you must have some more pictures of that boat. Please post them........
This boat has to my knowledge always been named -never a doubt-. The story is that it was started by Omie but he developed allergy to epoxy and the boat had to be finished by someone else. The owner had Rybo's before and some things like the double rail on the flybridge wings, etc are more rybo like. And the story is Mabry Edwards designed the running surface and felt the more stand up stem is a better ride. I'm also told sportsman went bankrupt during the build. would love to know the true full story.
I was down there early last month for a sailfish tournament. Here are a few slightly better photos.

I have personally put my eyes on most of the boats built by Omie, and have been on most of them.
Don't believe that is a Sportsman, either before or after Capt Omie.

well....
Mabry Edwards is gone so I guess the only one would know for sure would be George Hodges the owner that had it built.
Unless someone on here knows first hand??
Still a nice looking boat for sure!
Fishing was so good I thought I was here yesterday
