Northstar 6000i troubles

My northstar 6000i when turned on all I get is a blank screen.I can see it flash and it does it'd usual beep when turned on but nothing else.Anybody have any ideas asto what could be my problem?

GEt the box and send it back. Some of the early units were plagued with problems. Usualy they are great about warranty work.

That's what happens when the company gets sold and moved to New Zealand... They'll get it right though, all in all Northstar's are great units. If I could wait till next winter I would have installed Northstars black box system instead of the Navnet VX2!

We just bought a N. 6100i. Haven't used it yet but I hate to hear of problems with similar units. Good luck, wish I could give you advice.

Was there possibly water intrusion?? I had a similar problem last season after taking a beating one day with a lot of spray. I dried it out and it worked briefly but I ended up having to replace it (reman). Northstar helped me out and they are usually very good about service as was mentioned previously.

Even with the occasional problem I wouldn't trade my 6000i for much else out on the market today (except maybe a 6100i or 8000i). I love the ease of operation and quality of charts/features.

had the same issue this past winter. the culprit was a bad video cable. replaced under warranty. the only problem was that northstar kept the unit for 30 days. now the screen works, but the radar is screwin up. shoulda bought a ........
