    New Ritchie Howell test photos

I was coming up the sound, heading back to Pirates Cove from fishing today when I heard they were doing the par test on Ritchies newest creation.
Up in front of me, a mile or so away, all I saw was a fast moving boat and a lot of water flying.

I got out the camera and snapped off a few as they approached, it was all over pretty quick.
This beast has a pair of 1800's in her and I hear she was pushing over 40 knots. All I can say is WOW.

I am sure Ritchie wont mind a few pre delivery photos of her, enjoy, I did.

Alright ..the cats out of the bag so I'll elaborate a little .. shes a 62 with every bell and whistle I have ever seen on a boat .. she came in a little heavier than expected with all the extras but on early trials with the props needing a little tweaking and no tabs she ran 40.2 knots @ cruise / 80% load. We're thinking with a little tweaking 41.5 to 42 knots @ 80% load .. she has C32 Acerts @ 1800 hp, 3" splined shafts and Veem5 blades .. bookmatched figured Cherry interior, custom rod lockers, hydraulic anchor hauler, side scan sonar etc ...

    Couldn't help myself Mark !!
I didn't think anyone would mind

I've been watching the local builders run these boats up and down the creeks for years testing them, something about this one caught my eye. I have to say I am a little partial to my friend Ritches builds.

    Good luck,
    Troy

That is an unbelievably gorgeous boat. I know you probably can't hand out too much information on it as yet, but the customer- private owner or charter? Once it's delivered, I'd love to take a trip on that pretty girl.

I would bet the farm thats no charter boat.

Great job on the boat guys. If possible some interior pictures? It would probably be like watching ****. I was just down there last week checking most all the boat companies out when 40 mph+ winds made us not want to fish out of hatteras that day. It looked like most all companies were still building in these bad times.

I'll take that bet... Judging from Capt Mark's post (rightfully proud daddy) that is the new Canyon Runner....

Holy crap, if I had seen her bearing down on me at 40 knots, I would'a looked like that guy from Caddyshack:

Seriously, great looking new ride there. I was wondering about the anchor pulpit since most new boats go without. So how does the hydraulic anchor hauler work? Similar to a windlass or something different?

Forgive my ignorance--I haven't done much deepwater anchoring, and we've just used the polyball/manual labor retrieval method in the past.
