NOTHING is better than seeing a finning swordy, run to the bow with a bait, casting to it,actually have it bite and then get it!NOTHING!Watch them light up,slash at the bait, sink out and come back and eat it.Have been lucky enough to see it and catch one.We get shots at them every year, few bite and even few more are landed.FWIW,Tom
we run south to our 50 / 50 line and we shut them down and put out the baits and drift home. some nights you can see fish right beside the boat and some nights you see nothing. come down and fish Frank .. Luck anytime.. boat sits right here.
That may be one of things I "have to do". I don't care much about cranking anything in, but being there, helping and watching someone who does, well that flat turn's me on. I just about never bring in fish on my boat. Getting us there, rigging it up, getting on top of the fish and then watching the re-action's when the "bite" happen's = priceless! Frank
rigging is simple (it is just a squid.....) we also use gogs, speedos and tinker macks live... and when we get there on my boat we let the long flat line go while I am still moving.. I try to fish 5 lines from 400' t 60' and I have just always rigged up simple.
like I said we are spoiled here and we need no de-icing to get our boats out..
a sharp hook a good drag and a bunch of line will catch anything that swims.. oh and when we strap the black magic fighting belt system on you we call you grandma, puss, wimp... whatever will get you charged up enough to keep turning the handle!
thank the good Lord for whoever invented a two-speed reel! that low gear is awesome!
so far great.Going to the ocean reef club tomorrow with my wife for a long weekend and taking the family to Bimini the 24 of the month for another long weekend..Will have one more trip the end of march before it gets put on a ship to come to the west coast.Tom
Good looking ride, I know you will enjoy it.
