New Jones Brothers 26

Ok, this is the new Jones Brothers 26. I love Jones Brothers but what do you guys think about it. I guess the only thing that throws me off is that it still has the modified V. Its a solid fishing boat though....more can be found out at: http://jonesbrothersmarinesales.com/CF2600.htm

Where to start. The motors should be put on bracket or at least have a splash well put in. 26 foot fishing boat and modified V are going to make for a very long ride in and out to the canyons or stream or your favorite king hole. The market that boat is in I do not see it competing at all. A 25 deep vee parker is going to eat it alive.

I do aggree that the mod vee will be rough...but parker is going to be a considerable amount more money as well...when did parker come out with the 25'cc? I only thought it was the 23

It has no lines and because they didn't put the motors on a bracket, it looks like they pushed the consol forward. Should make for a teeth kicking ride.

one advantage i see though is that it is not going to roll much when sitting still; so' if you are going to use it for both trolling and still fishing should be a good compromise..

Agree with the ride sacrifice, but Jones Bros. boats we're never really focused on the offshore stuff, were they?
If she's got some wide, reversed chines, and you tab her down a little, I don't think the ride will be too punishing.
I personally don't like bracketed boats much, because outboards can be trouble enough to fish around. Lack of a splashboard doesn't bother me personally, either. When it's warm, I like wet feet. When it's cold I have boots on. If she's scuppered well, she'll evacuate it. And if it's too much for you, ad a splash board. It sounds like the price is right.
I think they've done a good job at a nice all around boat.
She should do what the Jones have always done well.
I like it.
