New Canyon Runner Ritchie Howell

Great Article in the March issue of Power and Motoryacht titled:
"Our Big Build" by Adam LaRosa.

It takes you through the first phase of the build with some impressive numbers and pictures.

Good Luck with her guys. I'm sure your getting anxoius and can't wait to splash her early this summer.

Well deserved for a great group of guys..

Great to see this boat get so much GOOD press.

I spoke with Ritchie today about possibly getting a 50 ft. convertible built. The conversation went great, and I felt very comfortable. His confidence is very encouraging. I hope to take a trip to Wanchese to see Ritchie's shop and some of his work in the coming weeks.

Is it safe to say Ritchie builds one of the best boats in the Carolinas? What would be difference between a Spencer and a Howell boat, other than $$$?

I want to get a copy of the magazine.

I saw that article as well- it looks like Ritchie Howell runs a good shop. I agree that most Carolina builders can work to a level of finish dictacted by the owners budget, what I liked about Howells' operation was the use of tank testing and teaming up with Applied Concepts for the design and jig tooling.

In my book, these two things really differentiate Howell as a builder.

Luis, I think Applied Concepts did all the Garlingtons......good pedigree there.

Thanks .. we are VERY excited about the build and the way the boat is turning out. She will be splashed well before summer and ahead of schedule .. Ritchie has worked with us in developing a boat that will meet the requirements of canyon fishermen with loads of storage for tackle , bait and fish. We also improved on interior space without sacrificing ride , making the boat an ideal platform for extended trips and overnighters. JT .. you christened the head , stay out of the master bed and bunks ... Applied Concepts design is a big part of why we went with Ritchie. They have designed many of the best running boats on the water including Garlington and Spencer. Luis .. the 50 footer Ritchie has drawn up looks great and will perform well with reasonable power (economy) without breaking the bank, we are on the fence still about our second Howell being a 50 or another 60 ...

Guys - thanks for all the great comments! I will be authoring another follow-up article once the boat is splashed and we take her thru the paces but it is safe to say we are absolutely thrilled at how everything has gone thus far and are counted the days until she is splashed.

Moreover, we are also truly honored to be partnering with Ritchie Howell to assist him in getting more of his beautiful yachts to the market by being his exclusive broker in the Northeast. Take a look at our website at www.ritchiehowell.com for more info.

By the way - Ritchie will be doing the tournament circuit with us this year at both the White Marlin Open and the MA500 so come by and say hello if you are attending either of those. We also plan to be at the Ft. Lauderdale boat show in the fall and the Miami show next year so hopefully Ritchie has a great year ahead of him - he really deserves it as he is really is one of the nicest guys in the world to work with.

We are also going to have the 60' Ritchie Howell at the South Jersey Shark Tournment and at least one of the two big Tuna Tournament in either Cape May or Ocean City so again please swing by and say hello and take a tour anytime.
