    She Works!!

After a long dry spell this summer, we finally had some tarpon show up in good enough numbers and under the right conditions to truly test the boat out.

Wednesday was one of those great days. Found lots of fish and went 2 for 6. 2 for 5 on trolled lines. The best part of all was two of the five strikes was on the five second or short line. That means the fish like the boat. With a diesel engine, I've never gotten a strike closer than the fifteen second line. So this was a total success.

She did just what we built her to do in just the way we built her to do it.

Landed fish were 100 and 150 lbs respectively. Had a 200+ lb fish on for about a half hour and lost her when I put on too much heat and pulled the hook. She's out there for another day!!!

The pic is of the smaller fish.

Oh yea, the lost birds like Winter Custom Yachts too!!!

    Just getting better

Finally getting some good chances to run her through her paces trolling for tarpon.

A couple weekends ago, we went four for seven in one day. Then on the next morning we went one for five.

Then last weekend, in one afternoon, we went five for eight all on trolled lines. Had a triple-header on at one point. All fish were from 120 lbs to 185 lbs. Five tarpon in one afternoon in that weight range will wipe you out!!!

I have to say, I have NEVER seen a tarpon boat pull strikes like this one does. It has been the most amazing thing I have seen.
